Analytics Filters

Overview

Findhelp’s analytics suites provide both high-level and detailed views of your personal work, site analytics, and analytics relating to program management. We make it easy to filter and download data and charts so that you and your team can further analyze your data, allowing you and your organization to make data-driven decisions. 

How to Filter

To filter data in a dashboard:

1. Click on the white bar located at the top of any dashboard. This expands the filter view.

2. Click on the name of the specific filter you want to use to view the filter options.

3. Select the filter options you want. Note: Some filters are hierarchical, meaning that a “parent” filter must be selected before the “child” filter opinions are visible. (e.g., Filter on a specific state to see that state’s county filter options.) 

4. Once you have selected all your filter options, click Apply to apply those filters.

To remove filters, simply click the x to the right of the filter you want to remove and click Apply.

Filter Types

This is a list of all available filters across all findhelp analytic suites and dashboard. Not all suites or dashboards have all filters. Instead, they have filters that are relevant to the dashboard and the user.

Filter

Definition

Aggregation

How you want data aggregated, ie. daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

Category

Top Level Service Category, ie. Food, Housing, Transportation, etc.

City

The city where the activity took place.

 Note: Geographical filters are hierarchical, meaning that the larger geographic filter must be selected before smaller geographic filter opinions are visible. (i.e., Filter on a specific state to see that state’s county filter options) 

County

The county where the activity took place. (You’ll need to select State to see a list of cities)

Note: Geographical filters are hierarchical, meaning that the larger geographic filter must be selected before smaller geographic filter opinions are visible. (i.e., Filter on a specific state to see that state’s county filter options) 

Date Range

Date range for the activity

Group

Group applied to a user

Note: You must filter on a specific site before group filter options are visible.

Linked_From

For selected Site(s), enables you to filter to activity to sessions that came in through a particular search box or links. Specifically, this filter used on the reference parameter associated with the URL of the search box or link. (/?ref=[url name])

 Work with your Customer Success Manager to create distinct reference codes for each search boxes and/or any links to your site(s), in order to use this filter. 

Service_Tag

Service tags associated with programs.

This filter’s functionality adjusts based on the dashboard. For example, when using this filter on the Search Activity Dashboard, it shows searches done for that tag.

When using this filter on the Program Summary Dashboard, it shows programs with that tag.

Site

The subdomain where the activity took place (i.e., your community site or staff site).

Situation_Tag

Situation/attribute tags associated with programs

This filter’s functionality adjusts based on the dashboard. For example, when using this filter on the Search Activity Dashboard, it shows searches done for that tag, or using that filter.

When using this filter on the Program Summary Dashboard, it shows programs with that tag.

State

The state where the activity took place.

Note: Geographical filters are hierarchical, meaning that the larger geographic filter must be selected before smaller geographic filter opinions are visible. (i.e., Filter on a specific state to see that state’s county filter options) 

Widget

For selected Site(s), enables you to filter activity to sessions that came in through a particular search box. It shows the word after “widget” in the code

Work with your Customer Success Manager to create distinct widget and reference codes for each search box to your site(s).

Zipcode

The ZIP code where the activity took place.

Note: Geographical filters are hierarchical, meaning that the larger geographic filter must be selected before smaller geographic filter opinions are visible. (i.e., Filter on a specific state to see that state’s county filter options)
