How do I update the logos, color and messaging on my site(s)?

Overview

Users with Site Administrator privileges have access to a variety of tools that allow them to customize aspects of their site in real time, manage their users’ permissions and manage user groups. Under the Customize My Site tool, Site Administrators can make changes to the look and feel of their branded site in real time, including the ability to update:

  • Logos and Images
  • Navigation Menu Bar Color
  • Text Above the Zip Code Search Box (i.e., home page search message)

How Do I Update the Logos, Color and Messaging On My Site?

To Update the logos, color and/or messaging on your site, navigate to the Customize My Site tool:

1. On the top toolbar click Site Tools, then select Customize My Site.

2. In the Customize My Site page you can:

  • Add images and update colors.
  • Change the Home Page search instructions message and links.
  • Update search options for your users.

3. To save any changes in this space click Save & View at the bottom of the page.

Add a Logo, Splash Image, Favicon

Logos are a way to both claim your site and visualize to your audience that they are in the right place.

To add a logo to you site:

1. Scroll down to the Images & Color section.

2. Click Choose file… to search your device for your image file.

Tip

We recommend using an image with a transparent background. Supported file types: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif

3. Once your image is selected you see it appear in the logo space.

4. To save any changes in this space click Save & View at the bottom of the page.

Change Navigation Menu Color

To update the color of the navigation menu (pictured above):

1. Scroll down the Images & Color section to Navigation Menu Bar Color.

Here you can use the color window to the left to select a color or enter in a specific HEX Color Code.

2. To save any changes in this space click Save & View at the bottom of the page.

Customize Home Page Search Message

To change your site's home page search instructions:

1. Scroll down to the Messaging section to Search Instructions.

2. Type in the message you want to share.

Example: Search and connect to support. Financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced-cost help starts here:

3. To save any changes in this space click Save & View at the bottom of the page.

Share Your Organization’s Web Page Link

To add a link to your organization’s web page or social media page to the findhelp home screen:

1. Scroll down to the Messaging section to My Organization Website.

2. Enter in your organization’s full url.

Example: http://findhelp.org
